Experiment:
JJ Thompson created an invention called the Cathode, which was where it would identify if the cathode ray would go up, or down when presented with a cathode ray. When this happened, he noticed the cathode ray went opposite of the negatively charged plate.
Discovery:
JJ Thompson then discovered that because of how the same charge repels, there was a negative and positive charge in atoms.
Model:
Known as the Plum Pudding Model, the model would resemble an atom, but the positive charged part of the atom would be a putty, while the negatively charged part, would be randomly dispersed orbs.
