Nicolaus Copernicus was a mathematician and a astronomer who believed that the planets revolved around the sun. Many at the time believed that the Earth was in the center of the universe but Copernicus theory and later book disproved that. His book was released and called "De revolutionibus orbium coelestium". He left a legacy and his knowledge of the Solar System is still studied and accurate to the other information we now have.
