This act was passed by Britain in response to the Boston Tea Party. The act had four parts 1) Closing of Boston Harbor, 2) Britain appointed governor of Massachusetts, 3) British officials could be tried in courts outside of Boston and 4) the Quartering Act which forced families to open their homes to British soldiers
