23 jun 1766 año - Regulator Movement
Descripción:
A fall in tobacco prices caused farmers to not able to pay off debts. Many farmers lost their land, got sued, or went to jail for not giving up their land. Debtors defied the courts orders, causing a set of reforms to become created. The reforms were lower legal fees and taxes, wanted greater representation in the assembly, and a revenue system. This ended with Royal Governor William Tryon executing seven insurgent leaders.
