Electronic television was first successfully demonstrated on Sept. 7, 1927. The system was designed by Philo Taylor Farnsworth. It was a system that could capture moving images in a form that could be coded onto radio waves and then transformed back into a picture on a screen. This helped people see what was going on in the world, like the news. It also entertains people by watching shows.
