On October 7th-25th, the colonist convened in New York to discuss what they would do about taxes. Only nine colonies sent representatives and they were divided into moderates and radicals. In the end every colonial legislator signed the Stamp Act resolves except one. This coming together to the different colonies made them see that they had more in common than they thought and this was a big step towards the unity they needed to declare their independence from Britian.
