The current atomic model is a representation of the basis of all life, the atom comes in many different shapes and sizes depending on which of the 118 currently discovered elements it is, and each with their own properties. The atom features a tightly packed, positively charged nucleus of protons and neutrons with multiple orbits of negatively charged electrons swirling around. The type of element depends on the number of protons and electrons, with each having different properties, melting points, colours and textures. It is a compendium of over 2000 years of research into the building blocks of all life.
