29 jul 65000000 año aC - Cretaceous-Tertiary mass extinction
Descripción:
Famed for the extinction of dinosaurs and known as the K/T extinction, the Cretaceous-tertiary mass extinction is the most familiar mass extinction when brought up in conversation. Yet not just dinosaurs perished. Ammonites, pterosaurs, and many flowering plants also met their end. We believe that it began with large flood basalt eruptions, effecting the climate, then drastic falls in sea level. Lastly, a large, likely giant asteroid/comet struck the seabed near the Yucatan Pinensula in Mexico and that ended it officially.
