Independence Activist, An jung geun (1909)

After Korea became Japan’s colony many koreans wanted independence and became an Independence activist. They’re many independence activist but An Jung-geun is one of the most famous independence activist. On October 26 in 1909, korean independence activist An Jung-geun hid among the soldiers at Harbin Railway Station ( China ). And as the Japanese Prime minister Ito Hirobumi got off the train, An Jung-geun got a pistol that he hid in the lunch box and shoot the Prime minister three times . Ito Hirobumi was killed and he shouted “ Korea ! Hurrah! “. The death of Ito Hirobumi was a shocking news to everyone. Some people called him a hero but some people called him a war criminal. Later on in the court he listed 15 reasons why Ito Hirobumi should be killed. 1. Assassination of Korean empress Myeongseong. 2. Dethroning the Emperor Gojong 3. Forcing Korea 14 different theory. 4. Killing innocent Koreans and many more. An jung geun died fighting for the independence of Korea. An jung geun was one of the most famous independence activist but he wasn’t the only one. Many people sacrificed their lives just for Korea’s independence. We should always remember the people was made Korea’s independence became true. Without them Korea probably couldn't exist.
