The Boston Tea Party was an act of protest/rebellion that involved the tossing of British tea in the Boston harbor. This was peprettrared by the Sons of Liberty. The Boston Tea Party was protesting against the tea monopoly recently given to the company British East India and the tax of tea. This tied to the saying "No taxation without representation."
This important because it rose tensions between the colonists and Britain and directly lead to the intolerable acts.
