Auroras begin showing up in the sky every night. The above mentioned metals become fully magnetized, and there are additional electrical disturbances -- Sparks that jump from metal to metal, a lot of static electricity. Science-minded characters may find a way to harness some of the electricity if they are provided things like copper wire or lightning rods by their Observers.
