The ENIAC was among the earliest purpose computers made. The ENIAC was designed and primarily used to calculate artillery firing tables for the United States Army's Ballistic Research Laboratory. The ENIAC was completed in 1945 and first put to work towards the end of that year. It was built at the university of Pennsylvania.
