The discovery of the protons, electron, and neutrons (1897-1932) led to the first idea of Dalton’s atomic theory.

His Theory was that
-Atoms cannot be created or destroyed
- All atoms are identical in properties, such as size and mass.
- Atoms are rearranged as a chemical reaction occurs. 
-Compounds are formed by combination of multiple atoms (in whole number ratios).
