24 agos 1871 año - Annexation
of Monaco
Descripción:
Following the annexation of the United Provinces of Emilia, a debate began that was titled the Monaco Question. A lot of people both in Sardinia and Monaco began to wonder whether a continued protectorate in Monaco was even necessary, or if the small principality should just join Sardinia.
The King of Sardinia, Emmanuel II held a plebiscite as to the future of Monaco and in 1871, the Treaty of Monte Carlo was signed, annexing the Principality of Monaco into the Kingdom of Sardinia.
[Note, the corresponding province of Monaco in Sardinia is much larger, as IOTL, France annexed the areas of Menton and Roquebrune, which made up 95% of Monaco.]
