With disastrous defeats by the German Empire and the collapse of nearly all assets of Russian society, revolution had begun. Protests demanding bread devolved into riots in the streets. Now, the official split between the Communist Bolsheviks and the Tsarist White Russians culminated into civil war during the events of the October Revolution.
