The Battle of Sari Bair was the final attempt made by the British to seize control of the Gallipoli peninsula from the Ottoman empire. The battle was times to coincide with a further major Allied landing of troop reinforcements at Suvla Bay on the Aegean coastline north of Anzac Cove. Success at both Suvla Bay and against Sari Bair was crucial if the Allies were to gain complete control of the peninsula. The Allied operation at Sari Bair had depended upon rapid advance. A lack of overall communication, once again, cost them the battle. Once the battles had finished, the front lines at Suvla and Anzac remained static for the remainder of the campaign. Localised fighting continued but no major advances were attempted.
