 This is an intaglio printmaking technique and involves elements of etching, It applies mordant onto a metal plate to create an etching and uses powered rosin to create a tonal effect, the rosin is resistant to acid and is applied using controlled heating to the plate, the level of mordant exposed is what controls the tonal variation.
