9 sept 1969 año - Official Language’s Act
Descripción:
Under Pierre Trudeau's government, through recommendation by the Royal Commission on Bilingualism and Biculturalism, the Official Languages Act was passed on September 9, 1969. The act made French the second official language of Canada, thus deeming it a bilingual nation. This meant both French and English were required to be present at federal institutions. The act was very important to Anglophone-Francophone relations in Canada, beginning to close the divide between them.
