Descripción:
The Protestant Reformation saw an increase in translations of the Bible into the common languages of the people. Martin Luther translated the first complete copy of the Bible into a common language, in this case German, in the early 1530’s. Myles Coverdale followed closely in 1535 and created the first version of the Bible translated into English. For the first time in history, Christians could read the word of God for themselves without having to be educated in Greek, Hebrew or Latin, which remained the realm of the elite.
