A lost painting of 1712 by Adriaen VAN DER WERFF (Dutch painter, born 1659 Kralingen-died 1722 Rotterdam), previously in the Gemäldegalerie Alte Meister in Dresden (inventory nr. 1818) was probably destroyed during the Second World War (1). Only black-white photographs are extant.VAN DER WERFF painted in 1716 another untypical 'Judgement of Paris' with Venus in a dancing attitude; here Mercury is seen on the left in the background, now in Dulwich Picture Gallery, London, inventory nr. DPG147 -1811
