Apollo 11 was the spaceflight in which the first two people landed on the moon. The two men were Buzz Aldrin and Neil Armstrong, who were both American. This was a huge accomplishment not only for the US but for the world as it was discovered that this was truly possible. It was also a big win for the US in the space race against the Soviet Union.
