17 mayo 1954 año - Brown V Board
Descripción:
Brown V Board of Education was a landmark Supreme Court case for the Civil Rights movement and American history in general that stated that segregation in public schools was no longer legal. This overturned the Plessy V Ferguson ruling that “separate but equal” was legal because, as the Supreme Court stated in their decision, “Separate educational facilities are inherently unequal”. However, there was huge pushback, especially in Southern communities, that challenged integration.
