Descripción:

Causes:
-The Indian's crops failed and rations were cut.
-Life on the reservations were awful.
-An Indian called Wokova had a vision and claimed that if the Indians did the ghost dance, the whites would disappear and they would go back to their old lives.
-This was banned by the US government.

Events:
-Chief Sitting Bull was killed as the US believed he was attempting to start a rebellion.
-His followers joined with Big Foot, who were caught by the army and were forced to go to Wounded Knee Creek to be kept under guard.
-The 7th Cavalry were sent to disarm the Sioux and when one man resisted, they opened fire.
-About 150 Indians had been murdered.
