Descripción:
-Charles Goodnight and Oliver Loving developed the Goodnight-Loving Trail which connected Texas and the northern states.
-They initially used the trail to transport thousands of cattle to an Indian reservation on the brink of starvation and sold them for a huge profit.
-The trail was dangerous as it passed through Indian Territory and attacks were frequent, but the drive was extremely successful in helping develop the cattle industry.
Problems on the Long Drive:
-Cattle became spooked easily so could stampede.
-Cattle could get lost, injured or killed,
Cattle could decrease in value as they'd lose weight travelling.
-There was the risk of Indian attacks or robbery.
