Founded by Seale and Huey Newton in Oakland, California, The Black Panther Party was a political organization. It was originally called Black Panther Party for Self- Defense. Its purpose was to patrol African American neighborhoods in the efforts to protect residence from police brutality. The group ended up developing into a Marxist group. Some things they wanted were arming of all AAs, release of AAs from jail, the exemption of AA from the draft and many more. To get their ideas across they created a newsletter.
