According to the constitution of the United States, the 14th amendment says, "The right of citizens of the United States to vote shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any State on account of sex." This amendment was revolutionary because it was officially allowing women to vote legally, however this did not solve all of the problems women were facing. Although this ensured women with the right to vote for the first time, there were still many rights that women were not ensured such as getting payed equally as men for the same job. After years of fighting, the Equal Pay Act came to be, which lead to more progress.
