The Attack on Pearl Harbor happened at a naval base on Oahu, Hawaii. On December 7, 1941, Japanese forces launched a surprise attack on the naval base. 2,400 Americans died and 1,000 were wounded. Also, 300 airplanes, eight battleships and 20 American naval vessels were either destroyed or damaged. This event caused the American government to declare war on Japan.
