The Civilian Conservation Corps was a government jobs program started by president FDR in order to provide employment to the some 25% of unemployed Americans. The corp mostly worked on public parks and works projects, like building trails, bridges and buildings. This program sent money home to each worker's family to reintegrate people back into the economy and regrow it.
