During this time period, the Iroquois Confederacy was formed. The date when the Confederacy isn't exactly known because there was no written language in Native American tribes. Also, they didn't use the same calendar that Europeans did, so there would be no way of knowing exactly when the Confederacy formed. This Confederacy was an example of an early military alliance in the Americas. The alliance lasted over 200 years, and it consisted of five tribes: Mohawk, Oneida, Onondaga, Cayuga, and Seneca. The five tribes banded together to terrorize the surrounding tribes.
