At this time, the Mujahadeen was able to drive out the Soviet forces that were in Afghanistan. This was with a large amount of help from the U.S., as we were trying to aid any anti-communist rebels around the globe. Reagan Doctrine was his pledge to support Anticommunist rebellions.
