On April 12, 1981, the space shuttle launched from Kennedy Space Center, and became the first flight of a space shuttle program. Afterwards, it successfully launched 134 times and successfully landed 133 times, but sadly in 2003, the space shuttle broke up as it returned to Earth, killing all seven astronauts on board.
