Chavin De Huantar was a large cultural place, culture spiked there. It is located in the Andes mountains of Peru, Chavin. It spread culture all around South America. Consists of “U” temple built around 900 B.C.E and the “new temple” which was built in 500 B.C.E. The temples were built for a god that was speculated to bring successful planting and harvest due to its representation of a highlands digging stick. Inside the temple there is a statue of their deity, Lanzon. Channel runs from the top of Lanzons head to the forehead for offerings. One hand of Lanzon’s is up to and the other is down, this represents the heavens and the Earth. Lanzon is looking up which signifies that he is looking up at the heavens. Is a human animal deity and depicted caimans and jaguars. Hidden deep in the temple and made in a way that was visually confusing so that only certain people would be able to find out it’s meaning. The jewelery there was made of hammered gold alloys and the buildings were made out of stone and granite.
