organized
Descripción:
an organized 3rd political Party for the 1848 U.S. Presidential election. Free soil, free speech, free labor and free men. As with most third parties, they peeled support from disgruntled members of other parties. Free soilers attracted an assortment of industrialistswho disliked Polk's Tariff, Northern Democrats, who resented taking all of Texas but not all of Oregon, Conscience Whigs, who advocated abolition on moral grounds, and an element of northerners who just hated blacks and were against the expansion of slavery, mostly they didn't want blacks in the new territory at all.
