Founded by Seale and Huey Newton in Oakland, California, The Black Panther Party was a political organization. It was originally called Black Panther Party for Self- Defense. Its purpose was to patrol African American neighborhoods in the efforts to protect residence from police brutality. The group ended up developing into a Marxist group. Some things they wanted were arming of all AAs, release of AAs from jail, the exemption of AA from the draft and many more.
