21 jun 1964 año - Killing of Goodman, Chaney, and Schwerner
Descripción:
Three Mississippi civil rights workers were abducted and murdered in Mississippi. All three men were a part of the Council of Federated Organizations, a subgroup of CORE. They had been working the Freedom Summer campaign by trying to register African Americans to vote.
The men traveled from Meridian to Longdale to talk with members of the congregation at the 16th street Baptist Church, following the bombing. As they were leaving, they were pulled over, abducted, and, after being escorted to another location, were shot.
