10 mayo 1773 año - Tea Act

Descripción:

The Tea Act was one of Parliament's regulations that bothered the colonists the most. Tea was an important part of the colonists' day-to-day lives, and imposing this tax on it was shocking and unexpected to many of the Tea Act's recipients. The Tea Act was not repealed when many of the Townshend Acts were. Many colonists were frustrated by this. Angry colonists in Boston responded to the Tea Act seven months later with the infamous Boston Tea Party. The Tea Act actually served the main purpose for the British of bailing out the East India Company, save them, and conceal a tax by lowering British tea rates as well as reduced transportation costs - so they basically charged the colonists for their losses. The colonists protested in various ways because the felt the same unfairness and cheating, taxation without representation, and protested in various ways such as the Boston Tea Party.
