The first of Gerald Ford’s domestic policies was the pardoning of Former President Richard Nixon. The pardon extended from the time of the Watergate scandal until the time of September 8, 1974. This pardon declared him innocent of all crimes he committed or may have committed during the time the Watergate scandal occurred until the final day of September 8, 1974. The issuing of this pardon made ford lose significant popularity but still made significant changes to the United States. Most Americans viewed the pardon as a “corrupt bargain”
