- in reality —> only very small amount of workers can benefit from this rather usually it was cinema tickets, theatre tickets

Volkswagen scheme a part of this:
- supposed to provide cheap cars for ordinary people —> workers encouraged to pay part of their wage per week for the car, after enough time you can receive a brand new car

- they collect millions of marks from workers, they use the money to set up factories to build the cars but then the factories start military production, ending in ordinary people not getting the Volkswagen car

- workers resent this idea as they are the ones building and renovating the workplace-


- overall, working time increased on average by 10%
- real wages are decreasing(on paper workers earn more, but inflation is higher than increase) —> wages by 20% increase, prices 45% between 1934-39
