The first woman in space, Valentina V. Tereshkova, orbited 48 times in 70.7 hours in a round cabin called Vostok 6. This was the last one of the series of the USSR’s crewed series. The design of the spacecraft was very much like Vostok 1 with three portholes and full systems in the cabin. It also had the attached module for extra machines which separated at reentry. Vostok 6 communicated with Vostok 5 and Earth regularly during the flight. Experiments were conducted, and TV of the cosmonauts was sent to Earth.
