The attack on Pearl Harbor took place on December 7, 1941. It was a surprise attack on the U.S. Naval base on Pearl Harbor. 350 aircraft were launched from six aircraft carriers to attack the base. Japan's goal was to cripple the U.S. Pacific fleet to secure an early advantage in their war efforts. This attack led to America declaring war on Japan the next day, entering them into WW2.
