Descripción:

The cambrian explosion was an event that occurred around 541 million years ago. This event was the rapid diversification of life, with many animals groups appearing within the fossil period in an extremely short period of time (8). This increase in diversity was mostly due to an increase in oxygen levels and adaptations within species. Due to oxygen levels rising, the Earth was able to support larger organisms. This was a massive step forward for the biosphere, with new species evolving at a rapid pace and new complex ecosystems (8), establishing predator and prey relationships for one of the first times. The same happened in the hydrosphere, with marine life flourishing due new newer habitats and an increase in food chains. This left a mark on the geosphere, with the formation of reefs and organisms that depend on burrowing structures.
