13 dic 2001 año - No Child Left Behind Act

Descripción:

The No Child Left Behind Act was intended to make sure that all students of all backgrounds and abilities were able to succeed in school. The NCLB act required that schools administer standardized tests to measure student progress, and schools that did not meet their targets were subject to penalties. This act also made it so that schools had to report their performance data for different groups of students separately. This was to ensure that students with disabilities, low income backgrounds, and other groups were not overlooked when assessing progress and performance. Also, the law required that teachers be highly qualified in the area they are teaching, and emphasized that certifications are highly necessary for teaching. (US Congress)
