21 jul 1896 año - Olympic Swimming
Descripción:
Swimming (men's) is introduced to the modern day Olympics.
At this point, competitive swim wear was virtually non existent, as the suits worn by swimmers were made of wool and cotton. Because of the material, these suits absorbed a lot of water and became heavy, and fit losely around the body, increasing drag. These suits were also full-body, as there were concerns about public "nudity."
