Hey all, just wanted to provide a quick update. I am still committed to managing this interactive timeline! as you may have noticed, my last few updates have been relatively late in relation to when the news drops from the KSP2 devs. This is simply because I have been busy the last few months. Between my job, moving into a new house, and recently getting a puppy, its been difficult to find the time to jump on here. Hopefully things start to settle down now as the move is mostly complete and the puppy is settling into his routine. I've added the Mammoth show and tell and the timeline is up to date as of this post. I will be making a goal to have any news updates uploaded on here within 24 hours of its release. Thanks for your understanding!
Mammoth Engine sneak peak on July 29, 2022 should be added https://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/index.php?/topic/209147-show-and-tell-mammoth-ii-engine/
A missing date is the acquisition of KSP by TakeTwo (may 31 2017, annoucement here : https://ir.take2games.com/news-releases/news-release-details/take-two-interactive-software-inc-acquires-kerbal-space-program/ )
Arguably that event is directly involved in the inception of KSP2, and it is likely that the Star Theory studio starting to work on the project began around that date. To quote the above document : "We view Kerbal Space Program as a new, long-term franchise that adds a well-respected and beloved IP to Take-Two’s portfolio as we continue to explore opportunities across the independent development landscape."
