VH-XCI Exceedance was noted on the Engine Combining Gearbox.
First contact was made with Pratt and Whitney Canada for advice and a solution to the continued vibrations recorded on the CoBox.
Contact was made with P&WC again.
Response received from P&WC “It appear that the gear mesh vibration stabilized for a while within limits and begin climbing back towards red line after a couple of hours. May I confirm the number of OilAT samples send backed to us so far?”
Contact was made with BellHUMS support for advice. BellHUMS responded. “Reviewing the RGB which has been indicating exceedances of the output gear. The Condition Indicator (CI) which is triggered due to “Localized Tooth Meshing”. Since this CI is real and has been trending up over the last 3 months, Bell recommends replacing the subject C-BOX as soon as practical. Meanwhile, continue monitor the chip detection system at closer intervals and perform an oil analysis of the RGB oil regularly.”
Contact with P&WC and response advising The CBox sensor is currently picking up the high vibs on the gear meshing between Output gear shaft and #2 side 2nd stage helical gear which is connected to the entire clutch shaft assembly.
VH-XCI CoBox went into the Exceedance range. The aircraft inspected as per the LifeFlight HIP manual and aircraft returned to service
