EISENHOWER ELECTION--34th president, Republican Dwight D. Eisenhower won a landslide victory over Democrat Adlai Stevenson.
JFK ELECTION-- was the 35th president, Democrat John F. Kennedy defeated incumbent Vice President Richard Nixon, the Republican Party nominee.
JFK ASSASSINATED-- was assassinated while riding in a presidential motorcade through Dealey Plaza.
CIVIL RIGHTS ACT OF 1964--civil rights and labor law that outlaws discrimination based on race, color, religion, sex, or national origin.
VOTING RIGHTS ACT OF 1965--a landmark piece of federal legislation in the United States that prohibits racial discrimination in voting.
