Sakpe and Wakanozhanzhan were drugged and kidnapped near the Canadian border.They were sentenced to death and hanged at Fort Snelling November 11, 1865. But the day before they were suppose to the St. Paul Pioneer Press states that “no serious injustice will be done by the execution tomorrow.
