Ah, young love. My first girlfriend was a girl named Kaitlin. This was a period in my life where I identified as a cis-gender female, who was homo-romantic and asexual. I could tell that my gender label was wrong, but I really could not wrap my head around all of it.
I mention this because it was hard in this relationship to explain why I never felt like a girl. While my girlfriend was pretty okay with me being whoever I wanted to be, I struggled because I did not know how to label myself, but I wanted so desperately for everything to make sense.
