The gasoline-powered tractors had a big impact on America during this time because the tractor distributed it's weight evenly to keep it from sinking in soft and muddy soil, and was more efficient than others. 10,000 caterpillar tracts were made from 1914 to 1918 by Holt manufacturing company.
