The Middle Ages, which started in 4 AD to 1,500 AD, is also known as the post-classical era. This era starts at end of the Roman Empire and ends in the Renaissance. The Middle Ages is mostly considered to be the period of ‘darkness’ because of the severe wars that happened during this time like the crusades, plagues, religious persecution and a relative lack of learning.
